ABOUT REENA NAIDU

Sydney-based Artist Reena Naidu was born in Fiji and of Indian heritage. She completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts, majoring in painting at the National Art School. Reena has since participated in a variety of artistic projects and group showings across Sydney.

Using watercolor and ink on handmade tapa cloth (bark cloth), Reena's focus has been on the sea for much of her work, which she has exhibited in many group and solo exhibitions within Australia. She has also focused on the art of Oceania and their traditional methods of craft exploring symbolic patterns and motifs.

Inspired by the natural world, its place, culture, and history Reena's works often depict landscapes which express mood and explore the ideas of time, place and movement. Her subjects include landscapes, seascapes, portraits and cultural pattern art.
